Knowing God’s steadfast love and his unchangeable purpose for those whom he has chosen as his own provides unspeakable comfort and hope, especially to us who acknowledge and lament our own fluctuating love for God that waxes and wanes, and our obedience which is too often marked by disobedience. If our salvation depended upon our own love and faithfulness, none of us would be saved. Thankfully, God’s steadfast love and faithfulness make our salvation certain and sure.
