God will speak through us

Matthew 10:19–20 (ESV)

19 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.

God knows what we are like. We are made of dust (Genesis 2:7; Psalm 103:14). Added to this is the depravity of sin. Yet God wants to use us to bring his message to the world and to do it well—even in the greatest need. We need not fear when we are questioned and threatened, by anyone. God gives the highest promise for the most dangerous moments. In those times of need, we are taken over by God himself. His Spirit then speaks through our mouths. The gospel cannot be better articulated. Moses was given Aaron as his mouthpiece (Exodus 4:16). We are given a promise that exceeds this endlessly. We will be amazed at the wisdom, earnestness, and love that comes out of our mouths at such times: Is it really me who is saying this or that? It is an amazing experience, which we may always ask for, precisely when it comes to saying the right words.
