Is lewdness (Hosea 2:10) the same as nakedness (Hosea 2:2)?

Hosea 2:10 (ESV)

10 Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one shall rescue her out of my hand.

Though related, lewdness is here most likely a reference to Israel’s spiritual adultery, her idolatrous pursuit of the Baals. Similarly to Hosea 2:2 shame is involved; this is an embarrassing revelation for the people of God. It is akin to a spouse being caught in the bedroom, having an affair. Dearman1 writes: God’s judgement on Israel will expose the people shamefully to observers.
