Job 15:20 (ESV)

20 The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, through all the years that are laid up for the ruthless.

Job had claimed that wicked people often prosper (Job 10:3). But, says Eliphaz, the truth is that the wicked suffers from torments and anxieties all his days. Eliphaz will describe the fate of the wicked in general terms (Job 15:20–35). Yet, he is cruelly directing his words to Job’s own situation. Job is the wicked man who suffers torments.
