This author does what the Lord asks of man. When the Lord says, Seek my face,
my heart says to him, Your face, Lord, do I seek
(Psalm 27:8). Passionately, he desires that God’s ears (literal translation), meaning: will hear him. Let my cries reach you,
he pleads in his prayer. For oh, his need is so great.
2 Let my prayer come before you; incline your ear to my cry!
