Job 16:12 (ESV)

12 I was at ease, and he broke me apart; he seized me by the neck and dashed me to pieces; he set me up as his target;

Job recalls a past in which all was well: he had served God and lived in peace and happiness. This had changed in an instant, as God broke him apart, seized him, and dashed him to pieces. And from that day, God has continued to make Job his target.
