The fall into sin prompted the Lord God to utter curses (Genesis 3:14, Genesis 3:17), that is, place something (or someone) under a ban so as to be void of his favour and exposed to his righteous wrath. Paul expressed the wish (or prayer) that anyone who presented a gospel other than Jesus Christ crucified should be “accursed,” even if that were an angel (Galatians 1:8–9). Clearly it is God himself who ultimately must execute this cursedness.
3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.
