Summary of Ecclesiastes 4:9

Ecclesiastes 4:9 (ESV)

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.

The Preacher understands ordinary life. He knows what is important. He shows from ordinary life how important it is to live together with other people. He goes on to give three examples in Ecclesiastes 4:10–12. These examples support what we read in this verse. When you work with other people, when you also give to other people, you often get something in return. It means that others want to help you when you need help. Being together is better than going through life alone.
