Those who believe in God’s promises enjoy the same blessing that believing Abraham enjoyed. One does not need to be circumcised to be part of Abraham’s family.1 Similar to Paul, Jesus Christ also taught that it is not physical descent but spiritual likeness that makes one a son of Abraham (Luke 19:9; John 8:39–40).2
9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
