1. Luke 2:21–39 (ESV)
  2. Application

One God, three persons: What does Luke 2:21–39 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (Son)?

Luke 2:21–39 (ESV)

21 And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

God the Son took on flesh. Born of a woman, born under law, he came to obey God’s law perfectly in my place and die the death that I deserve for my sin and rebellion. He came in fulfilment of prophecy, the King who would suffer first (Isaiah 53:1–12) and then return in glory.
