In Psalm 139:19–22 we find a different tone than in the previous verses. Especially because the author is so closely connected to the Lord, he cannot stand the people who speak so frivolously about God. He does not want to associate with those who do not care about God’s commandments. Let them disappear from his sight. Psalm 119:115 relates to this: Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.
He even implores God to slay these wicked men. Let those who mock God and his commandments be eradicated.
19 Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God! O men of blood, depart from me!
