Is it wrong to pray standing?

Matthew 6:5 (ESV)

5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

There are lots of different and appropriate prayer postures given in Scripture (see 2 Samuel 7:18; Luke 18:11, Luke 18:13; Luke 22:41; Matthew 26:39).1 Though it is not wrong to pray standing, it is wrong to pray for the notice and attention of people.2 Someone who only prays when he is standing at a street corner would be one such example.
