Concluding prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank you that your Son Jesus Christ came to make an end of the law, that we no longer live under a calendar regulated by lots of special days and seasons, but a simple weekly meeting on the Lord’s Day. Thank you that we can gather on this day to remember and celebrate what you have done for us in Christ. Thank you that we rest in his work with the full assurance of your love and favour.

We thank you also that you have called office bearers to minister your Word to us. Please help them to be diligent in their task. May we also make it easy for them to look after us. Will you help us to trust them and to open up and speak with them in our times of need.

We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
