The goal of your sermon is to encourage God’s people to know that he is sovereign over all evil. Nothing which happens in this world is outside of his control. Show how this truth is confirmed in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Make applications that focus on the loyalty which we are called to God and how this loyalty may result in our death. Emphasise the fact that death should not frighten us because there is a resurrection and life in glory for those who belong to Christ.
