Commentary on Job 21:8 (Summary)

Job 21:8 (ESV)

8 Their offspring are established in their presence, and their descendants before their eyes.

A large offspring is not only the reward of the righteous, as Eliphaz had claimed (Job 5:25). The wicked is not left without an offspring, as Bildad had said (Job 18:19). Job sees quite the opposite: the wicked enjoy the company of their children and grandchildren (while his own house is painfully empty).
