Job 35:3 (ESV)

3 that you ask, ‘What advantage have I? How am I better off than if I had sinned?’

Elihu repeats the accusation made in his previous speech (Job 34:9). But again, he exaggerates Job’s complaint. Job had indeed complained that it is all one, since God destroys both the blameless and the wicked (Job 9:22). But these words were spoken out of deep agony. Moreover, Job never explicitly said that it is useless to serve God.
