Where were the towns and cities mentioned in 2:21–35 located?

Most of the towns and cities mentioned in this list were in the area around Jerusalem or north of Jerusalem in land that traditionally belonged to the descendants of Benjamin. The list of localities shows that people retained memories of their homes and that people from a wide background of tribes, villages, and towns returned.¹
