What does Amos 9 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? God the Son bears the burden of God’s wrath in my place. The evil that I have done and for which I ought to be punished is paid for by him. As a result, if I believe in the Son, my day of judgment has already taken place–my sins have already been paid for. He is also the one who lived the perfect life on my behalf so that, with his righteousness imputed to me through faith, I can look forward to life in God’s presence in the glorious new creation.
