Your sermon focuses on explaining the first section of Amos’s prophecy (Amos 1:3—2:16). You will show how his words are directed against the nations around Israel before focusing in on Israel itself. You must highlight the fact that the Lord is perfectly just and that we can be thankful for his justice. You must also explain that the only way to escape his wrath is through faith in Jesus Christ and not on account of any privileges which we might enjoy (e.g., being a member in a church).
