What does Amos 1:3-2:16 reveal about who God the Father is? God will punish sin. He does not allow nations or individuals to continue with sin forever. There will come a time when he intervenes in judgment. One day God will hold all people accountable for their actions.
God is perfectly just. People will be judged according to what they know. Those who have had special revelation will be judged stricter than those who did not. The Lord does not sweep the sins of his people under the carpet. He is fair and impartial.
3 Thus says the LORD: “For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.
