Amos 3:1–15 (ESV)

1 Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O people of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt:

What does Amos 3 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)?

God protects me from his judgment and anger against my sin by sending his Son to bear the penalty of sin on my behalf. Jesus Christ bore the burden of God’s wrath for all those who believe in him so that they will not be destroyed by God’s burning anger.
