As if to provide further evidence for the remarkable claim that the Word is God, John encourages us to consider the creation of the world. Back in Genesis 1:1 we read, In the beginning God created.
But now John tells us that this work of creation was not only the work of the Father. The Word was also present and active. Mountains and seas, lions and leopards, trees and flowers—the Word is the one who made everything.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
