In Genesis 5:1–32 we find a list of believers. In Hebrews 11:1–40, three of them are mentioned because they had a special relationship with the Lord. God testified of them as his friends. Abel was loved by God because his sacrifice was sincere and from his heart (Hebrews 11:4). Enoch walked with God as a friend (Genesis 5:21–24; Hebrews 11:5). Noah also walked with God; he found favour in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8–9).
7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
