1 Thessalonians 2:6–7 (ESV)

6 Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.

Let us not forget those who are ministers of the gospel. How can we show ourselves to be servants of the people whom we serve? What is our attitude to the humblest members of our congregations? To the children? Toward those whose painful circumstances seem to consume too much of our time? Let us show ourselves to be under-shepherds of the Chief Shepherd, who does not break a bruised reed or snuff out a smouldering wick (see Isaiah 42:3).
