1 Corinthians 12:26 (ESV)

26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

In this beautiful statement, Paul describes one practical manifestation of the church’s unity in diversity. God’s people are to share one another’s troubles and joys (compare Romans 12:15). The word honoured can be understood in a broad sense, as referring to a state of prosperity and happiness.

We can again think of a human body. When one body part is hurt, the whole body suffers. On the other hand, a healthy and well-dressed body part contributes to the health and beauty of the whole body.
