What does Joshua 24:29-33 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? Joshua was a servant of God who died in the land of promise. His death and works of service point forward to the greater Joshua, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is God with us and he came to deal with the problem of our sin and defeat death. Thus at the end of the Gospels we read of resurrection and not only death and burial. Being the true servant of the Lord, Christ lived the perfect life in my place and was able to bear the wrath which I deserve on my behalf.
29 After these things Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being 110 years old.
