You can see that Daniel’s position is still that of the head of the wise men at court. He still occupies a very important position.
Daniel enters last. The other wise men stand before the king but they have nothing to say. The king also tells Daniel what he has dreamed. The king trusts that he can give the interpretation.
9 “O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you, tell me the visions of my dream that I saw and their interpretation.
