God breathed out this Book. Calvin, when he comments on the Scriptures, on 2 Timothy 3:16–17, says that this Book, the Scriptures, come with the authority of God, and that when we read the Scriptures, we ought to bow before what it says, just the way we would bow before God himself. Now that does not mean we worship the Book, but it means that we worship the God of the Book and what he says. You see, that is part of the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints; that this is a Book which is breathed out by God.1
