The section of Revelation explaining what happened as a result of the blowing of the seventh trumpet (Revelation 11:15 – 14:20) could be seen as excessively dark and discouraging. That is particularly so because that section of Scripture contains multiple references to martyrdom (Revelation 12:11; Revelation 13:15; Revelation 14:13). So it is very encouraging to read in Revelation 15:1–8 about what became of those who loved not their lives even unto death
(Revelation 12:11): they have conquered
(instead of being overcome), and in the presence of God himself they lead in worshipful praise of the King of the nations. Despite what God’s saints experience in this earthly life (one with devils filled, each threatening to undo us), we have reason to join the heavenly songs of the deceased.
1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.
