Using a comparison, this verse states plainly and clearly that what you see on the outside of a person comes from the inside. People, however, can pretend to be more beautiful than they are. You are often wrong about people, and the first impression of someone often needs to be adjusted. However, when you clearly identify yourself as a citizen of the kingdom, it is because you have surrendered to the Lord Jesus and know that you are dependent on him, also in your weaknesses.
