Christ As the Righteous One in the Judgment of God

2 Peter 2:4–10 (ESV)

2 Peter 2:4–10a raises the question of righteousness, specifically concerning how we become righteous in God’s sight. Lot and Noah are both identified as righteous; why is that the case? These questions drive us to Christ, the only truly righteous man who ever walked on this earth. He is the one who perfectly obeyed God’s law, he is the godly man and his righteousness (2 Peter 1:1) has been given to all those who are united to him through faith.
