What significance is there in the beast’s colour “scarlet”?
Revelation 17:3 (ESV)
3And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.
Scarlet (deep red) is a colour of royalty and wealth. As the rider on the beast, the woman determines its decorations. By dressing her beast in scarlet this woman is making a statement about herself (see also Nahum 2:3).
