All Macedonians view the congregation of Thessalonica in a positive light. The members offer practical help and are hospitable. Paul and his travel companions have experienced this themselves (Acts 17:7). Still, an encouragement to remain hospitable is warranted. The risk to be pleased with what you do can easily take hold of you. Also in the church, that is a danger. That is the reason for the encouragement to remain active. For it is the desire of Christ that his followers will bear much fruit (John 15:8).
