The sons of the Syrian king want revenge. They amass another large military force. It comes to fruition when Antiochus III, also called Antiochus the Great, marches to Egypt with a large army. The northern army overwhelms the army of Egypt. Like a tidal wave, the Syrian army sweeps away Egypt’s army. The Syrian army penetrates deep into Egypt, even into the fortress where the Egyptian king is staying. Then comes the great battle! In that battle, thousands of Syrians are killed. So the king of the north actually meets defeat. However, the Egyptian king makes no further use of his victory.
