Daniel 11:27 (ESV)

27 And as for the two kings, their hearts shall be bent on doing evil. They shall speak lies at the same table, but to no avail, for the end is yet to be at the time appointed.

Antiochus and the new king, Ptolemy VII, now sit around the table and try to reach an agreement through negotiation. They both use lies and deception in order to get the best out of the negotiations. Antiochus gets a large booty, but he does not manage to reach a point where Egypt is completely in subjection to him. After the negotiations, he withdraws to his own country with the large booty—yet still disappointed.
