What result does Peter envision from this craving?

1 Peter 2:2 (ESV)

2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation

He describes the result as “that by it you may grow up into salvation.” Milk makes a baby grow. Similarly, drinking from God’s kind of milk makes the newborn Christian grow. The growth Peter desires is “into salvation.”
