The book of Acts recounts the spread of the early church and the manner in which Christ works to take the gospel from Jerusalem, to Samaria, and finally to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8). Your sermon from Acts 5:12–16 must focus on explaining the nature of the apostles’ miracles and why we do not expect to see the same today, as well as the manner in which believers were added to the church. These are both significant topics in our day and age where various individuals claim to have the power to perform fantastic miracles, whilst others confidently state that they belong to God’s church but they are not members of a true local gathering of believers.
12 Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon’s Portico.
