What does 1 Samuel 5–6 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? Jesus Christ is my covering who allows me to come in the presence of the Lord without being destroyed. He paid the penalty that I deserve for my sins and disobedience (eternal wrath). He perfectly obeyed God’s law in my place. Clothed in his righteousness, I can call God my Father and come to him without being destroyed.
