What does Joshua 18–19 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? On account of my sin I do not have the right to meet with God and come into his presence. Only those who are blameless may abide on God’s holy hill (see Psalm 15:1–5). Jesus Christ, however, came to live the perfect life in my place and pay the penalty that my sins deserve. As a result, his righteousness can be imputed to me through faith so that I can meet with God without being destroyed by his holiness.
