To keep in step with the Spirit is to align the patterns of your life with the methods that the Spirit uses to produce his fruit in the believer (Acts 21:24; Romans 4:12; Galatians 6:16; Philippians 3:16).1 This means seeking to live in a way that pleases the Spirit, actively fighting against the desires of the flesh,2 making sure you are regularly hearing of Jesus Christ, and what he has done for God’s people (see Galatians 2:20; Galatians 3:2–3).
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
