God the Son is the King who brings the kingdom. He gives people access to the kingdom through faith in him. This can be done only because he has come to live the perfect life in the place of sinners and die the death that sinners deserve. Having taken on flesh, the Son is also the one who exemplifies (shows) God’s people what it means to be meek, to hunger for righteousness and a peacemaker.
