Revelation of God the Son

Ezra 4:1–24 (ESV)

1 Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the returned exiles were building a temple to the LORD, the God of Israel,

What does Ezra 4 reveal about what God the Son did in my place and on my behalf?

Ezra 4 does not specifically tell us about what God is doing in the place of his people and on their behalf. However, we know that when Jesus Christ came to earth, he was also tempted by the devil and was opposed by people who wanted to do him wrong. Despite the opposition and temptation, he lived a perfect life trusting vengeance to God and praying for his enemies. We were also God’s enemies on account of our sin and hatred, but God in his mercy demonstrated his love for us by sending his Son to die for us even when we were his enemies (Romans 5:8). Jesus Christ thus lived the perfect life on my behalf (where I am not able to) and he saved me from God’s wrath.
