1After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.
Revelation 7:1–17 consists of two sections defined by the answer to who can stand in the face of God’s wrath. Revelation 7:1–8 tells us of “four angels standing”; Revelation 7:9–17 describes “a great multitude…standing.”
