Psalm 105 and Psalm 27
There are a number of psalms that would be especially appropriate for a sermon on Joshua 18–19. Psalm 105:1–45 finishes by testifying that God brought his people into the land in remembrance of his promises to Abraham and so that they can serve him in obedience to his law (Psalm 105:42–45). It would be good to sing this final part of Psalm 105 before the sermon. Psalm 27:1–14 testifies to the joy that comes from meeting with God and how God’s Spirit strengthens his people to be bold and courageous. This would be a good song to sing after the sermon, an encouragement to meet with God so that we are likewise strengthened.
1 Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.
