This angel, sent as he is by God from heaven, must act in step with the cry of triumph of Revelation 12:10 and echo the joy of Revelation 12:12. In fact, this angel would have heard and responded to the command of Revelation 12:12 to “rejoice.” With Satan’s defeat being absolute, there is ultimately no force anywhere in God’s wide world able to threaten this victory; hence this “gospel” is eternal.
This angel’s message, then, parallels the work of missionaries and preachers around the world over the ages.
6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.
