This verse says the same thing as the previous verse. As a teacher you can help others in the way of the kingdom, if you meet the requirements that Jesus previously formulated. Ultimately, no human being can meet these requirements in a faultless way (“has made everything their own”). The Sermon on the Mount shows how much God asks of you when it comes to being devoted to his kingdom. That forces you to your knees so that you pray daily for the grace of the Holy Spirit. Only then will you be empowered to strive again and again to be and do as the Lord Jesus instructs you here.
40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
