The great Egyptian army occupies the largest and most important Syrian cities (the north). They loot the expensive and precious things as well as the idols from these cities. They capture the capital city where the king lives. The south subdues the north. This lasts for a number of years. Nevertheless, after that, a king comes back to power in the north.
8 He shall also carry off to Egypt their gods with their metal images and their precious vessels of silver and gold, and for some years he shall refrain from attacking the king of the north.
