One God in three persons: What does Matthew 5:33-37 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (Son)?

Matthew 5:33–37 (ESV)

33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’

God the Son is the King who fulfills all that was promised in Scripture. He has come to perfectly obey God’s law, thereby meriting eternal life in God’s presence. He shares his perfect righteousness with all those who have faith in him, so that they can also belong to the kingdom and enjoy the privileges of kingdom citizens. Through his death, he also bore the curses that the law promised for lawbreakers, giving his life in the place of sinners who deserve judgment.

With regards to oath-breaking, never did Jesus speak a word that was not true or fail to keep a promise. He came to testify to the truth (John 18:37) and throughout his life he lived in a way that brought honour to God. As a result, he could give his life on the cross to die the death that oath-breakers deserve
