One God in three persons: What does Matthew 7:1-6 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (Son)?

Matthew 7:1–6 (ESV)

1 “Judge not, that you be not judged.

  • God the Son came to bear the wrath of God in the place of God’s people. Living the perfect life in complete obedience to God’s law, he never acted with hypocrisy. He did not condemn people with a critical spirit or attitude but sought what is best for those who came across his path. In this, he demonstrated what love for your neighbour looks like. As a result of his obedience, he was able to pay the penalty for the sons of those who are disobedient. He bore the death that I deserve for my sins, the judgment I deserve for my hypocrisy.
