What does Amos 7 reveal about who God the Father is?
God is committed to Israel. He is the Lord who cares for them and calls them my people
(Amos 7:8).
God is patient. He delays judgment in response to Amos’s prayers.
God is just. Even if judgment might be delayed, it is not stopped. Sin must be punished, even the sins of God’s own people.
God reveals himself. Through the words of Amos, the Lord speaks to his people. He is not silent; he warns them of judgment and calls them to repent.
1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, he was forming locusts when the latter growth was just beginning to sprout, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
